The German Pelagos??

The new titanium Tutima M2 Seven Seas

That’s what the social media comment said. Right there, under a photo of the new Tutima M2 Seven Seas titanium dive watch. I believe “titanium” was the operative word which prompted the comment. But I get the sentiment. For a lot of dive watch geeks, especially fans of German watches, the comment was right on.

I saw the Seven Seas at the Couture show in Vegas week before last. The replacement in the new Tutima lineup for the venerable DI300, it’s a sweet piece indeed. Although it features day and date, it gives off my favorite “everything you need, nothing you don’t” vibe.

Overall the watch is highly legible, with your choice of black or deep blue dial that has minimal printing (love love LUV that!). The stick hour and minute hands are lume-coated, and the dart-shaped seconds hand is hi-vis red. The 44mm case, as stated before, is titanium, and is strapped down with black Kevlar or Tutima’s signature H-link bracelet, also titanium.

The whole rig is good to a depth of 500 meters.

The M2 family is looking better and better as the successor to the previous generation Tutima military-inspired chronographs and divers. Join me in welcoming back a Tutima dive watch into the line.
