The king of dive watches, the 2018 Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller comes in a slightly new incarnation as announced in the 2018 Baselworld show. This watch is loved by its fans who embrace it’s oversized case and incredible technical capabilities.
The 2018 version (referecnce 126660) features a movement upgrade and a case that offers 22mm lug widths vs. the previous 20mm lug width. This was the main criticism of the older version and in the flesh, Rolex appears to have fixed this perceived flaw. After all, this is a big watch, the bracelet connection should be proportional. The bracelet now also has a Glidelock (for minute adjustments) and Fliplock (to use the wetsuit extension) on the clasp.
Rolex also added its 3250 movement, which delivers a 70-hour power reserve. The Deepsea Sea-Dweller is one of our favorite Rolex watches just on its pure boldness. Not everyone can pull it off, but for those that can, the Deepsea just works.
